Season Recap: New York Giants

What a year it was ! The 2025 season was a roller coaster, filled with highs, lows and a sense
of hope for the future for the New York Giants.
Preseason
After the 2024 season the Giants were ranked 4th in the NFC East and 16th in the NFC. Heading into the 2025 NFL draft the Giants were looking to add more talent to their roster. The Giants ended up drafting outside linebacker Abdul Carter from Penn State, Quarterback Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss, and Running back Cam Skattebo from Arizona State. The Giants were also able to sign Quarterback Russell Wilson to their roster. After training camp pre pre-season games began. The Giants went against the Buffalo Bills winning the game 34 to 25. The Giants then faced the New York Jets and won the game 31 to 12. In their final game of the preseason the Giants faced the New England Patriots and won the game 42 to 10.
Jaxson Dart was drafted in the first round as pick 25
Abdul Carter was drafted in the first round as pick 3
Cam Skattebo was drafted in the fourth round as pick 105
During the Season
After the preseason the Giants had announced that Russell Wilson would be their starting Quarterback and Jaxson Dart would be his backup. In their first game of the regular season the Giants faced the Washington Commanders which ended with a loss and a score of 21 to 6. The Giants would then lose to the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs. After these losses the Giants made the decision to make Dart their starting quarterback and to bench Wilson. Many fans were happy with this decision. They then faced the Los Angeles Chargers and won 21 to 18. The Giants would then continue to lose to the Saints, Broncos, 49ers , Bears and Eagles.
Injuries and firings
After the Giants lost to the Chicago Bears they announced that they would be firing their head coach Brian Daboll. They also announced that they would be firing multiple staff also. They also had two of their star players Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo suffer season ending injuries. They are expected to return for the 2026 season.
Although the 2025 season did go as fans intended with four wins and thirteen losses fans still remain hopeful. Under their new Head coach John Harbaugh and new staff joining the team. Fans are hopeful that one day the Giants will be able to hold up the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the Super Bowl one day.
